A cat doused in gasoline, stuffed in a trash bag, and almost crushed by a garbage truck is on the road to recovery in Berks County.

READING, Pa. (WPVI) -- A reward is now being offered to find whoever doused a cat in gasoline and left her in a trash bag last week in Reading, Pa.

A total of $6,000 has been donated by several organizations.

The cat, now named 'Miracle Maisy,' was found inside a garbage truck in a bag - that had already been packed and crushed - after workers heard her cries.

They took the 1-year-old cat to the Berks County Humane Society.

If all goes well in her recovery, Miracle Maisy will be put up for adoption.

Anyone with information should contact the Reading Police Department by calling 610-655-6116.
