PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Eagles have finally made their move.
They announced Wednesday the hiring of former Bears Scouting Director Joe Douglas as their new Vice President of Player Personnel.
Douglas will report to Eagles executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman.
He worked with the Baltimore Ravens for 15 years before moving to Chicago.
It will be interesting to see how this all works given that Roseman has already shaped this team his way with the offseason signings and the draft.
Howie says Douglas was a guy they targeted from the outset.
In the announcement, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie cites the importance of having excellent communication within all phases of their operation, something they clearly were lacking in the Chip Kelly era.
Andy Weidl was also announced as the assistant director of player personnel. He spent the previous 11 seasons with the Ravens, most recently serving as Baltimore's East regional scout from 2013-15.
