PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Parking Authority is stepping up efforts to make the roads safer for bicyclists.
The PPA announced it will have eight dedicated bike lane enforcement officers on the streets by fall.
The officers will ticket vehicles illegally parked in bike lanes in Center City, University City, and South Philadelphia.
A total of 41 bicyclists have been killed and 135 injured in Philadelphia since 2011.
