Philadelphia police said in a social media post that the crash does not appear to be intentional.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A total of eight people were injured after a car hit a crowd of people celebrating the Eagles' NFC Championship win on Sunday night.

It happened just after 9:30 p.m. at Broad and Spring Garden streets in the Spring Garden section of Philadelphia.

Police said some of the people who were injured suffered fractures. None of the injuries were said to be life-threatening.

The striking vehicle was found in the 1500 block of Ridge Avenue. Chopper 6 was overhead as police investigated the silver Mercedes GLA250 that was involved.

The driver, 26-year-old Rebekah DeShields of Narberth, Pa., was taken into custody.

She is being charged with Aggravated Assault, Driving without a License, Simple Assault, Reckless Driving, and related offenses.

Crowds took to the streets after the Eagles beat the Washington Commanders 55-23 in the NFC Championship to win a trip to the Super Bowl.
