Wells being drilled to monitor, test groundwater at site of Sunoco pipeline spill in Bucks County

UPPER MAKEFIELD TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Remediation work is underway at the site of the Sunoco pipeline spill in Upper Makefield, Bucks County.

Energy Transfer says crews have started drilling several wells in neighborhoods in Mount Eyre to monitor and test groundwater.

Oil wells have recovered nearly 1,000 gallons of spilled petroleum since March.

Energy Transfer also says it does not have any evidence that the pipeline is leaking, and it continues to operate safely.
