Woman critically hurt after being struck by Maple Shade police vehicle in Marlton

MARLTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- A woman is in critical condition after being struck by a Maple Shade police vehicle in the town of Marlton in Evesham Twp., New Jersey, on Wednesday.

The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office says the woman was walking across Evesboro-Medford Road at Elmwood Road around 8 a.m. when the officer struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk.

She was taken to Cooper Hospital in critical condition.

It's not known why the Maple Shade vehicle was in Marlton.

The Burlington Co. Prosecutor's Office is handling the investigation.
