SAN FRANCISCO -- A San Francisco man is just one race away from an incredible accomplishment. Tim Durbin is the only American competing in the World Marathon Challenge.
It started last Saturday and ends in Sydney, Australia on Friday. So far, the 31-year-old has run six marathons, each 26.2 miles. He's run through snow, rain and jetlag in Antarctica, Chile, Miami, Madrid, Morocco and Dubai.
ABC7 Sports anchor Mike Shumann caught up with Durbin last week and he says he has his reasons for doing this.
Durbin is averaging about five hours for each marathon and, he's doing it all for a good cause -- raising money for the V Foundation for cancer research.
