Police say a driver lost control and crashed an SUV into a bank in North Philadelphia early Thursday morning.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a driver lost control and crashed an SUV into a bank in North Philadelphia early Thursday morning.

The accident happened around 1:45 a.m. at the United Bank at North Broad and Jefferson Streets.

According to police, a Cadillac Escalade struck a car then crashed through the window of the bank.

The impact of the crash left a large gaping hole in the building.

L & I was called to the scene to check the safety of the structure.

Witnesses told police they saw one female driver and two male passengers get out of the vehicle.

They dusted themselves off and walked away from the scene heading north.

Police are looking for the driver and passengers.
