Beachgoers soak up sun as hot weather slams Jersey shore after holiday weekend

OCEAN CITY, New Jersey (WPVI) -- While the weather was hot and muggy in the Delaware Valley for the Fourth of July, Saturday was a perfect day to head to the shore.

For many families, spending the holiday weekend at the beach is a New Jersey tradition.

With the Fourth falling in the middle of the week this year, many families extended their vacation down the shore into the weekend.

Beachgoers are now enjoying the last of the long weekend before the week ahead.
