A water man break buckled a roadway in Philadelphia Center City early Wednesday morning.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A water man break buckled a roadway in Center City Philadelphia.

Water began gushing just before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at 7th and Locust Streets at Washington Square Park.

Police arrived and diverted traffic around the break.

The Philadelphia Water Department was able to get the water shut off by 6:30 a.m.

Ten properties and a condo building remained without water as of noon.

While repairs are being made, 7th Street is closed from Spruce Street to Walnut Street, and Locust Street from 8th to 7th is closed until further notice.

The Water Departments expects that all repairs will be completed by the end of business today Wednesday.
