PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Main Line Health and 6abc have partnered to bring you Well Ahead Philly, an online community focused on helping you achieve better health by giving you access to care and the information you need to live well.

It's health information at your fingertips. Whether you're searching for a specialist or just trying to eat healthier and lose weight, Well Ahead Philly can help with up-to-date information to make the best decisions.

"What they can do to stay healthy, what they can do when they don't feel well," says Jack Lynch, president and CEO of Main Line Health.

Lynch says the program, will tap Main Line Health experts to share ways to handle a variety of topics, including managing chronic disease, preventive care, and coping with issues like stress and anxiety.

There will also be advice on eating healthier, moving more, improving mental health, and recognizing potential problems.

"I would view this as a huge success if we see people responding more quickly to some of the signs and symptoms that may get them into trouble," says Lynch.

On Well Ahead Philly, you'll also be able to find support groups and classes.

6abc general manager Bernie Prazenica says knowledge is power.

Giving people easy access to trusted information online at any time, can lead to making better, healthier decisions overall.

"When you pay attention to your health, whether its exercise, diet, all of those things, the quality of your life is raised," says Prazenica.

"I think the more our community is working in that direction, the better off we all are. So hopefully this can make a little difference," he adds.

Lynch says while there may come a day when advanced care is needed to save your life, Well Ahead Philly is at helping you stay well.
