Former CEO not running for Delaware Governor

WILMINGTON, Del. -January 18, 2008

He says he will instead concentrate on activities with philanthropic organizations in Delaware.

Levin had been encouraged by Delaware Republicans to seek the party's nomination. His decision leaves one announced Republican candidate, Hockessin pilot Mike Protack. Lt. Gov. John Carney and Delaware Treasurer Jack Markell (mar-KELL') are vying for the Democratic nomination.

Levin says he and his wife, Ellen, made the decision together. He says running would have made a change of life that he was not committed to at this time.
