Roberson purchased by Orioles
BALTIMORE (AP) - January 2, 2008 The 28-year-old hit .286 (8-for-28) in two stints with the
Phillies last year and batted .266 in 113 games for Triple-A
Ottawa, playing primarily in center field. A ninth-round pick in
the 2001 amateur draft, Roberson made his major league debut in
2006.
To make room for Roberson on the 40-man roster, Baltimore
designated outfielder Jeff Fiorentino for assignment.
Philadelphia also sent catcher Pete Laforest outright to
Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
