Incoming managing director's husband killed in crash

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - January 4, 2008

Just four days before the inauguration, the husband of Nutter's new managing director has been killed in a car accident.

Aides say James Barnett, the husband of Camille Cates Barnett, was killed early Friday morning during his drive from Washington, D.C., to Philadelphia.

Camille Barnett was introduced as managing director in December and is moving to Philadelphia from the nation's capital where she has been working for a consulting firm.

Details of the accident were not immediately available.

Nutter's office issued a statement saying they and the mayor-elect "are shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of James M. Barnett."
