Green was wounded in the chest. He was treated at the scene but died during surgery at Christiana Hospital.
Police say the case was the city's fifth homicide this year and second in two days.

The victim was identified as 26-year-old Jerome Green of
Wilmington. Police responding to a call about gunshots Sunday
afternoon found Green on the ground in the 200 block of East 23rd
street. Police believe he was shot a block away.
