Product recalls: wall furnaces
February 21, 2008 -About 52,000, direct-vent models RHFE 431 and RHFE 556 wall
furnaces, manufactured in Japan by Rinnai America Corp., because a
gasket can fail and allow carbon monoxide gas to leak out of the
furnace, posing a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. The company
has received 11 reports of leaks, but no reports of injuries. The
furnaces were sold to contractors and dealers around the country by
wholesale distributors between February 2000 and December 2007.
