Dad gets 25 years for daughter in microwave
GALVESTON, Texas (AP) - March 26, 2008 The jury also fined Joshua Mauldin $10,000 in the sentence
handed down Wednesday.
Jurors convicted him Tuesday of felony injury to a child. They
rejected Mauldin's claims that he was insane when he put his
daughter Ana in the microwave.
Prosecutors had wanted Mauldin to be sentenced to the maximum
life in prison. His attorneys wanted him sentenced to probation so
he could be treated for mental illness.
