Officials at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History in Texas say the 2-foot-long, 15-pound critter was found in a construction area after a worker noticed him moseying along.
An assistant curator says Bob was supposed to be moved with a group of turtles last September during renovations at a museum pond.
But she believes he went underground while his fellow reptiles were relocated.
She says Bob appears a little thin but is doing well and will get some treats, like minnows, to "fatten him up a little bit."
