Woman wanted for id theft arrested

ASTON, Pa. - April 7, 2008 Starletta Lee Jernigan was taken into custody at 5:30 after a tip call.

Action News first told you about her last week in an exclusive report. A trio of alleged identity thieves, 2 women and a man, were caught on surveillance tape at the Neiman Marcus outlet store in Limerick. Police say they were living high on the hog on somebody else's identity. One of the suspects was wearing a $2,200 mink coat purchased at Zinman Furs using an Aston woman's social security number, date of birth, and address.

Two of the suspects surrendered to police after seeing the story on Action News.

Police arrested Jernigan inside a home in the unit block of Oakmont Street in Northeast Philadelphia on Monday night.

She was captured with the help of officers from the 15th Police District.

Jernigan was arraigned in Delaware County and ordered held on multiple charges of identity theft.

Investigators said she was using 13 aliases.

Jernigan was also wanted in Philadelphia, Montgomery and Lancaster County.
