Delaware school dist. warns of possible scam

by Johnnie Braxton, Wilmington Bureau Chief

The parent provided the information to the person claiming to be from Christiana Hospital. But when she tried to get more information about what had happened and the childs condition, the caller hung up.

The parent called the school and learned that her child was at school and had not been taken to the hospital. The parent also contacted police.

The Brandywine School District distributed a phone message to parents informing them of the districts policy in such situations and asking them to make sure their childs emergency information is on file.

There have not been any reports of other similar incidents.
