The accident happened around midnight at a roadside construction site on 202 North in East Whiteland Township.
The worker who was killed has been identified as Thomas J. Hetrick, 53, of Norristown, Pa. Hetrick was working for Verizon to reposition cables across four lanes of Route 202.
State police say Hetrick was handling a cable when it became tangled in a vehicle traveling across the Swedesford Road overpass. That cable threw or dragged Hetrick onto Route 202 where he died after suffering a major head injury.
Investigators closed 202 while they tried to determine what happened. The road was reopened on Thursday morning at about 5:45.
