The teen told police he was walking to a home in the Oakmont community, when two males riding a green bicycle approached him.
He started to run when he noticed that they were hiding their faces. But they tried to rob the teen and fired at least one shot at him, striking his left arm.
The teen was taken to Christiana Hospital, but his injury is not thought to be life-threatening.
