Three elderly house fire victims ID'd

PEMBERTON TWP., N.J. - June 9, 2008

Police are treating the area around the home in Pemberton Township, Burlington County as a crime scene following the fire early Monday morning. That's standard procedure after a deadly fire until the official cause can be determined.

The fire broke out along the 200 block of Marie Drive in Pemberton Township, just after 1 a.m. Firefighters from all five of Pemberton Townships fire departments as well as Fort Dix had the fire under control just after 2:45 a.m.

Officials say 92-year-old Myo Sun Lee, her son , 74-year-old Young Boo Lee, and his wife, 67-year-old Tasuk Lee, all died in the blaze.

People who worked to get people out of the neighboring homes told police and firefighters they heard 2 explosions during the blaze.

Chopper 6 flew overhead and did not find much left of the structure. Several neighboring homes were evacuated because of the fire's intensity.

Fire investigators are looking into what sparked the flames. William Kramer, a New Jersey fire marshal, told Action News "There's nothing I'm aware of at this point that would lead us to believe the fire is suspicious."
