Police: Women steal baby formula, TV

UPPER MORELAND, Pa. - August 11, 2008 -

They are searching for two women who hit a Wal-Mart store in Upper Moreland Township.

Surveillance video shows one of the women placing 57 cans of baby formula in a plastic storage tub.

Police say, she then left the store without paying for any of it.

"She, in effect, cleared out the majority of the baby formula on the shelving" said Detective Sergeant Rick Tidwell of the Upper Moreland Police. "The value of that merchandise was in excess of $760."

The cans of formula weren't the only items that vanished from the store. Investigators say a woman, wearing clothing similar to the suspect in the baby aisle theft, also stole a large television.

Police say the shoplifter was joined by another woman as she left the store, then the pair left in a silver Jeep Cherokee.

If you recognize the woman in the video, you're asked to call Upper Moreland Police at (215) 657-4700.
