Sewage for scholarships proposal

An Ohio mayor wants to plug the brain drain -- with the city's sewage system.

Akron's mayor, Don Plusquellic, is proposing to lease the sewers to a private contractor and use the money for college.

Some people call the plan "stools for schools."

The mayor's proposal would fund college scholarships for Akron's public high school graduates.

The mayor says Akron is losing talented students to other cities.

But city sewage workers would like to flush the scholarship idea.

Their opposition is forcing a vote on the issue in November.
