'Greenfest' to takeover Head House Square

You don't have to look far... to see it. Our country is getting a little "greener" all the time. And some young people at the forefront of Philadelphia's environmental movement are hosting a celebration Sunday. If you ask people to name the biggest event on Head House Square, they'd probably tell you it's the Easter Promenade. But that's likely to change Sunday when Greenfest takes over 2nd Street from Pine to South.

Greenfest will share the neighborhood with the weekly farmer's market at the Head House. Locally-grown organic produce is part of the message, food vendors will be on hand and any waste will be composted.

SEPTA is sending a hybrid bus you can tour.

Thrift store shoppers already "get" recycling clothing. There'll be a tent where you can bring unwanted items and swap them for things you DO want to wear.

There'll be lots more you can learn about recycling, plus yoga, and entertainment the kids will love.
