Deputy Berks County Coroner Ellis Edmonds pronounced the man dead early Friday at the scene in Reading. He did not immediately identify the victim. Edmonds says it doesn't appear the driver was wearing a seat belt.
Vehicle parts were strewn throughout the intersection as far as 100 feet away following the accident. Reading police say there were no passengers in the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved.
