Arrest made in 5-yr-old murder case

CAMDEN, N.J. - February 1, 2009 The sheriff's office arrested a suspect wanted in the murder of 16-year-old Sherita Williams.

Williams was found murdered under a bridge near the corner of 36th and Hayes in November of 2003.

The cause of death was determined to be suffocation.

For more than 5 years, her family and Camden County authorities have been searching for her killer.

A review of physical evidence and numerous interviews led the prosecutor's office to identify a suspect and bring charges against him.

23-year-old Warren Dixon of Camden, an acquaintance of the victim, was arrested Friday night and charged with murder.

Dixon is being held in the Camden County Jail and will likely be arraigned Monday.
