Moorestown teen sentenced in fatal crash

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (AP) - February 6, 2009 Nineteen-year-old Daniel L. Friedmann of Moorestown had pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide, assault by auto and drunk driving charges stemming from the Dec. 9, 2007 accident that killed Evan Welch and injured another passenger in the car.

Welch's mother said Friday that she forgave Friedmann for the crash, but added that she agreed with the punishment. Friedmann also lost his driving privileges for 10 years.

"He didn't go out that night saying, 'I want to hurt my friend,"' Joan Welch said.
