Penn students with meningitis improving

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - February 16, 2009 University spokesman Ron Ozio said Sunday two students remain in critical condition and another is stable. He says the three are responding and improving.

The school says two students under observation for flu-like symptoms are linked to the social networks of the first three students.

More than 2,000 students were treated at health clinics over the weekend, and Ozio says another is planned for Monday, when the school expects to resume normal operations.

Penn canceled all official university and student-sponsored parties through the weekend because the three hospitalized students had contact through fraternities and sororities.
