Nintendo sets DSi U.S. launch date

The next generation handheld game from Nintendo is about to storm U.S. shores.The new Nintendo DSi? system, the third generation of the system - which is the world's best-selling portable video game , is set for sale in the U.S. on April 5.

The new DSi will feature larger screens, a pair of cameras (one on the outside of the case, one on the inside, and an SD memory card slot for storing pictures and downloaded games from Nintendo's library.

The software will be downloadable through the new Nintendo DSiWare?, which will allow users to download new and old games through an internet connection, much like Nintendo's Wii system currently does. The system can also play most Nintendo DS? games, and will have access to a library of more than 850 titles originally made for that system.

More features and news of Nintendo DSi will be revealed as April 5 approaches.
