Restaurant recession recovery

February 22, 2009 In fact, some restaurants are literally giving food away!

You can save at a well-known chain or try out a fancy French restaurant.

For example, buy one entrée at TGI Friday's, get a second one for free!

Entrees at the chain cost up to $18.29, so this freebie's really good!

But hurry as the promotion is only good through March 1st.

If you're looking for something fancier, go to Alma de Cuba in Center City for free tapas from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

A great way to check out the pricey, but delicious food at Lacroix is to go on Sunday or Monday evenings for its appetite stimulus plan of a three-course dinner is $35.

Plus, you'll get half off the restaurant's wine list!

And if you're in the burbs, try your luck at one of Iron Hill Brewery's seven locations.

Five times a week, the restaurant chooses at least one table to receive a bailout package, meaning the meal is on the house!

Many other restaurants are also offering free food and half-off deals.
