Snowstorm ends, bitter temperatures remain

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - March 3, 2009 The thermometer in Philadelphia at 6:30 a.m. reads 12 degrees, but the wind chill makes it feel like one above.

Dozens of school districts in the Philadelphia area are reporting delayed openings.

The National Weather Service says snowfall amounts on Monday ranged from four inches to nearly a foot.

Major roads are open and passable Tuesday. Philadelphia officials say they will now begin turning their attention to clearing neighborhood streets.

In Bucks County, private contractor Sean Young says with the economy down, it's nice to be able to pick up a few bucks plowing snow.
