After the collision, Maher proceeded to the left shoulder of the roadway where he came to rest with severe damage to the front and rear of his vehicle.
The collision caused the other vehicle to strike the guardrail on the right shoulder of the road before flipping on its driver side of the vehicle also suffered sever damage to the entire vehicle.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the second vehicle was found dead on scene.
There was no identification found at the scene and the identification is pending.
Matthew Maher was charged with DUI.
