Plastic surgeons worked on a two-year-old South Jersey girl early Friday morning, to repair the wounds caused when a pit bull mauled her.

Police say the dog attacked the girl around 9:30 Thursday night inside a house on the 200 block of Vine Street in Camden.

It is unclear if the dog belonged to a family member or friend.

The girl's grandmother was watching the child at the time.

The little victim is recovering at Cooper University Hospital.

The pit bull is now in the custody of animal control.
