Kellie says part of the attraction of bees is the "daredevil" aspect of handling stinging insects most people fear.
As the East Texas Beekeepers Association's Honey Queen, Kellie has a chance to compete for the state title.
She tells the Tyler Morning Telegraph it's more than a beauty pageant.
