HILLSDALE, N.J. (AP) - May 17, 2009 Three people were on the second-story deck at the Hillsdale home
when it came down around 6:35 p.m. Saturday, striking two other
guests. Authorities said the other two injuries were related to
emotional distress caused by the collapse.
One person who tried to jump from the falling structure
fractured an ankle, while another suffered what authorities called
"a cardiac-related incident." However, none of the injuries were
considered life-threatening.
The victims, all adults, were taken to nearby hospitals for
treatment.
About 30 people were at the house in Bergen County when the
accident occurred.
