Police: Graduation party killer was jealous

MESA, Arizona - May 25, 2009 Brent Matthew Banks, 37, was arrested after a four-hour standoff with police at a house in Mesa, east of Phoenix, Mesa Police Sgt. Ed Wessing said.

Investigators say Banks became upset when he saw his ex-girlfriend, Sally S. Johnson-Huddleston, kiss her boyfriend at the party Saturday. Banks was arrested on suspicion of killing of Johnson-Huddleston and Auston G. Blanks.

Police say Banks also opened fire on police, and six people were hurt by either gunshots or bullet fragments.

They included a 10-year-old boy who was grazed on the head and an 8-year-old boy injured by bullet fragments.

A police officer was shot in the arm, but the other injuries were minor.
