Donna Greenwood and her family were headed to a family reunion in Greenville, North Carolina. They had to change buses in Wilmington.
Greenwood says when they got to the terminal, officials told her five more buses would be arriving shortly. Only three showed up and there was not enough room for everyone.
Greyhound employees, we're told, locked up the station and went home for the night, leaving the family outside with nowhere to go.
Wilmington Police kept an eye on the travelers to make sure they are safe. The officers also brought them food and drinks.
The family is now en route to New York City, where they'll be able to catch another bus and continue their trip to North Carolina.
