In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dropped first-degree murder charges Monday against 27-year-old Victor Landy in the death of 26-year-old Christopher Snow. Landy's case was scheduled to go to trial Wednesday.
Landy, who also pleaded guilty to a weapons charge, now faces a minimum mandatory four years in prison and up to 50 years behind bars at sentencing in September.
Court papers state Landy and Snow had argued about a dog and later when Landy drove past Snow in New Castle, they exchanged words. That's when court papers say Snow shattered a window of Landy's car and Landy got out and stabbed Snow several times. Snow later died at the hospital.
