2 children die in Scranton, Pa., fire ruled arson

SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - July 22, 2009 Authorities have a suspect in custody. Police say 43-year-old William Robert Woods had threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend and burn her house down. Woods has not been charged with the arson, but police say he is a "person of interest."

Prosecutors say Woods' criminal record goes back to 1986 and includes more than a dozen convictions. It's not clear if he has an attorney.

The blaze that killed 9-year-old Taevon Miles and 10-year-old Michael Miles broke out before dawn Tuesday at their home in Scranton.

Taevon was pronounced dead shortly after the fire. The Lehigh County coroner's office says his brother died Tuesday night.
