Thousands lose power in Del. storms

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - July 25, 2009 The company reported more than 10,000 customers without electricity on Friday night, and more than 4,000 whose power continued to be off Saturday morning. Heavy storms caused trees and poles to be knocked down.

The National Weather Service says a spotter reported hail about an inch in diameter falling in Hockessin. Forecasters say there's a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms this evening, and a 50 percent chance of showers and storms on Sunday.
