Police: Cleaner stole, pawned silver set

New Castle County police are looking for a house cleaner they say stole a set of Tiffany flatware valued at $3,000 from a client, then pawned it. Police spokesman Cpl. Trinidad Navarro said Friday that 40-year-old Jody Moore, whose last known address was in Wilmington, is being sought on charges of felony theft.

Police say a woman called police Wednesday to report the theft of antique silver sterling pieces and Tiffany sterling silver flatware. She had noticed the items missing from her dining room about a week earlier and suspected Moore, whom she had hired in mid-August.

Navarro says investigators found that Moore sold the flatware to a local pawn shop earlier this month. Most of the items were recovered and returned to the owner.
