Rock band's missing van recovered

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - November 12, 2009

The alternative rock band "Kill Hannah" was scheduled to perform at Center City's Electric Factory Wednesday night.

They had to cancel after finding their 2005 Ford 350 van and 14-foot trailer had been stolen from the parking lot of a Holiday Inn on the 900 block of Packer Avenue.

The trailer contained tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment.

On Thursday, police said both the van and trailer had been recovered. However, authorities would not say if the equipment was still there.

There have been no arrests.

Police say this is the second time in less than a week a vehicle belonging to a musical group has been stolen from the same hotel parking lot.

A 2000 Ford 350 van with a trailer, belonging to the group MAE, was reported stolen from the same parking lot less than a week ago.

Police say 16 vehicle thefts have been reported from the hotel parking lot this year.

This is the second misfortune within a year for the "Kill Hannah" band.

Last year, on a European tour, the band's bus caught fire, destroying all their equipment.
