Lauren Blum, an English teacher at F. Niel Postlethwait Middle School, says using blogging to teach students is like putting medicine in tasty foods.
And Michael Noel, principal of the school near Camden, says blogging in English and science classes helps spark interest in learning and helps shy kids participate.
The teachers started using blogs as a teaching tool three years ago. Blum say it allows them to hear from each student. In a normal class, some students won't speak up or won't be heard during a discussion.
Teachers require positive, constructive comments from students and they're able to provide instant feedback to students. All comments are monitored before being posted.
