Papa wants to be the big cheese

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - January 13, 2010

The company is buying rights as the big cheese for the big game.

Officials of the company won't say how much dough it cost them to be the official pizza sponsor for the Super Bowl next month.

All a Papa John's spokesman will say is that it's the largest marketing sponsorship in company history.

As part of the deal, Papa John's gets to pitch its pies during the game broadcast.

The company expects to sell more than 750,000 pizzas on Super Bowl Sunday.
