Officers took the girl into custody around 3:45 p.m. She will be taken to the Special Victims Unit for interviews. Investigators don't yet know if she'll be charged with anything.
Initially, at around 6:45 a.m., police say the girl was supposed to get on a bus and go to her school which is in the area of 8th and Moore streets. Then, around 8:30 a.m., the girl's mother says she got a text message from her daughter saying she had been abducted by a black man and black woman.
The girl's message went on to say she was being held inside a vacant building somewhere in South Philadelphia.
The 8th grader, her mother and father are being interviewed by police at the Special Victims Unit in Kensington.
