WHAT IT MEANS: Some theaters have a couple of screens that are able to show in 3-D. But in other places, only the 2-D version will be available. That could crimp some potential studio profits and shorten the 3-D run of some of the movies.
WHY THE RUSH?: Ticket prices are a few dollars higher for 3-D movies, so Hollywood studios are putting out as many as they can. As more screens get digital projectors and add 3-D technology, the competition for 3-D screens should abate.
