Ambulance struck by car in Glenolden; 3 injured

GLENOLDEN, Pa. - February 28, 2010

The 2-vehicle crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on Chester Pike near the intersection of Ashland Avenue in Glenolden.

Police say the ambulance was transporting a patient to Taylor Hospital when another vehicle traveling west on Ashland Avenue struck the rear of the ambulance forcing the ambulance off the road and onto the lawn of a nearby residence.

At least three people were transported to the hospital for injuries. None of the injuries are considered to be life threatening.

Police tell Action News that they are trying to determine if alcohol played a factor in the crash.
