The judge found Wednesday that 20-month-old Hannah Jackson is doing well and should stay with the foster family she's been with since she was found on Feb. 12.
Twenty-five-year-old Dwayne Jackson of Edison, N.J. is accused of abandoning his daughter. He has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in the death of the toddler's mother, whose burning body was discovered in an upstate New York park.
Some of the child's maternal relatives were at the hearing. Another hearing is set for April 16.
